Hi all, I have already posted this article to comp.unix.questions but haven't got good response. And strangely, I can't post any articles to comp.protocols.dns.bind using our ISP's news server. I usually use Linux and thought some Linux guru might know about this. I am using BIND 4.9.5 on BSDI and tried to prevent unauthorized zone transfer. So I put "xfrnets 10.0.0.0" in named.boot and restarted named. For testing, I used named-xfer on other host whose address is not 10.0.0.xx specifying the DNS server which runs the named as a source. However, the named did not reject the request and named-xfer obtained zone information. So xfrnets statement does not seem to work. I do not use any secure_zone records at the moment Does anyone know why it does not work? Have I done something wrong? Many thanks in advance. Terry
