Hi All I am wondering if it is possible to do the following on linux (1.2.8+)... - Setup to domain names: a.org.au and b.com.au on the SAME machine. - Allow machine a.org.au and blah.b.com.au to have the SAME IP. OR, allow machine a.org.au to have IP a.a.a.a and machine blah.b.com.au to have IP b.b.b.b but, both refer to the same machine (using dummy interfaces ?!?) The machine I wish to set this up on is connected to the 'net via SLIP, there is an Ethernet card - but it isn't used. ...Glen -- Glen Kidd APANA West glen@odyssey.apana.org.au

This is not a Linux issue. This is a DNS issue. You certainly can. > - Allow machine a.org.au and blah.b.com.au to have the SAME IP. That is also a DNS issue. Yes, you can. > OR, allow machine a.org.au to have IP a.a.a.a and > machine blah.b.com.au to have IP b.b.b.b but, both > refer to the same machine (using dummy interfaces ?!?) This is a linux issue. You can easily map several IP addresses to the same machine. >The machine I wish to set this up on is connected to the 'net via SLIP, >there is an Ethernet card - but it isn't used. Make sure you obtain the additional IPs from your provider and that they will route them for you. Otherwise, it won't work. -- Joel Katz Corporate Web Pages - http://WWW.CyberPlus.COM Information on Objectivism, Atheism, the 8031/8051 Microcontrollers, Linux and more is available at "http://www.panix.com/~stimpson/".
