SMC Ultra + 1.2.8 = Can't boot.
#365

System:
        486dx4-100
        PCI bus
        IDE drives
53c810 scsi on-motherboard controller, no scsi devices
        SMC Ultra (wd8013) ethernet card
        Kernel 1.1.59 (from slackware)
        Kernel 1.2.8 + Elf Patches

Problem:
System has previously been running kernel 1.1.59 (slackware)
with no problems. Tried updating to version 1.2.8, but the
kernel now hangs at the ethernet detection at boot time.
The ethernet card is on irq 10, address 0xd8000-0xdbfff, and
kernel 1.1.59 used to detect this fine, but 1.2.8 gets as
far as wrongly detecting the card at irq 9 and address
0xb8000, and hangs there. Can anyone think of something
stupid I'm doing wrong? I've have tried the kernel with
both the elf and a.out compilers (gcc 2.6.3) with the
        same result.

cheers
