Hi, I'm looking for people who use their Sun as an diskless XTerminal for Linux. Currently I'm using the SLXT 0.5c package on a Sparc4 and Linux 2.2.10. One problem for which I'd appreciate any hints is, that the nfsd on the server constantly complains the following: Jan 3 16:42:34 romeo nfsd[193]: Unable to setfsuid -2: Invalid argument Jan 3 16:42:34 romeo nfsd[193]: Unable to setfsgid -2: Invalid argument Jan 3 16:42:34 romeo nfsd[193]: Unable to setgroups: Invalid argument The system is running anyway but produces lots of load on the syslogd and the logfiles tend to grow way too fast... Florian.

The nfs demon is known to complain about nearly anything and yes this can slow down connections tremendously. I would try to configure the terminal so that the syslog demon isnt started at bootup, or point the nfsd to put all its error messages into /dev/null. Charlie
