This is not entirely wrong, but it needs clarifying.

If your software is covered under the GPL, then you're *allowed* to
charge for the binaries, but you're not allowed to charge *extra*
for source.

Furthermore, if you don't give someone the binaries, then you are
not obligated to give them the source.  The GPL may be vacuously
satisfied by *not distributing anything whatsoever*.
