The original point was that anyone is allowed REDISTRIBUTE such material,
providing that they redistribute source.

You can make funny noises all you like but there is no requirement in the
GPL that either sources or binaries are distributed for free. The resuirement
is that IF the binaries are distributed THEN you must either distribute
source with the binaries OR offer to make that source available to the
recipients of the binaries.

But the point of the matter is who is allowed to REDISTRIBUTE both binary
and source form and the GPL is quite clear about that:

    6. Each time you redistribute the Program (or any work based on the
Program), the recipient automatically receives a license from the
original licensor to copy, distribute or modify the Program subject to
these terms and conditions. You may not impose any further
restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted herein.

Since Red Hat are redistributing GPL material, they are also automatically
providing licenses for the recipients to further redistribute that material.
And yes, that means source and binaries (note the phrase "the Program (or
and work based on the Program)" if you can understand that binaries are
a work based on the source code).

Now that we have a better understanding of the GPL, the hard issue comes
up because not all of Red Hat is covered by GPL.
