Hi, after update kernel-2.4.20.19/rh9 (from rhn), I can not install nvidia driver for my video card (TNT). The old kernel-2.4.19.19 has no problem with this. /var/log/nvidia_installer.log noted due to my kernel does not precompiled module of nvidia. I try to install this module but no result. Any help please, thanks dphan

Trying to install a driver for a TNT2 under Knoppix (kernel 2.4.20) it says that it needs to download an extra file from the nvidia site, then says that the file is not there. It then tries to compile without it and fails. I can only assume that new drivers haven't been written yet, since I have the latest download. Doug. -- Registered Linux User No. 277548. If none is found, it will attempt to download one, if one cannot be found to match your kernel, it will built one for you on the fly and install it. Viola! All done. Kewl, isn't it? -- ~Ohmster

I agree with the above and I can confirm ppl have gotten the nVidia drivers to build/install with Kernel-2.4.20-19. Ofcourse, they were clever enough to install the corresponding 'kernel-source' pkg before they set on to run the 'nVidia-installer'. ;-) V.
