rpm -qa |grep kde>/tmp/kde

Check /tmp/kde to make sure other unrelated things are not included (eg
a package called backdentist)
rpm -e `cat /tmp/kde`

But why would you want to do this? While you may not use kde, you may
well want to use some of the kde programs, and are you really that short
of disk space?

And are you sure that some of the programs you do use do not depend on
kde?

or rpm -qa | grep kde | xargs rpm -e

Some KDE packages dont have KDE in the name (e.g. kooka, koncd)

Changes are the above commands will return errors about things being
required so you'll have to do some manually removal.

Alternatively .. in RH8.0 you can use the package management tool to
'untick' the KDE option and it will remove the packages in question.

hmmmm. did you download those? otherwise, red hat doesnt put the
rpm files on the HD, but are on the CD's. just use the red hat
software installer utility to remove kde.

ps - i dont see the need in cross-posting to three groups.
