I agree totally with this replyafter running linux slackware successfully for
several years and recompiling kernels on everything from a 386sx with 4meg (very
slowly) to a Pentium 166, I recently came across the sig 11 fault and at other
times different faults on compile. The machine in question was a poorly cooled
KTX notebook with a Cyrix chip and had a bad case of overheating.
Put it in front of an aircon on full no more probs <grin>
check your hardware first. 95 doesnt push your hardware anywhere to the
extremes linux does in a compile, because 95 is not meant as a real os. My
suggestion is to try an old 486 with lotsa ram or stick ur machine somewhere
real cold.It might solve your problem. I hear Antarctica is fairly chilly
<grin>
