It's 14 Dec 97 16:04, We'll return to deth@idx.com.au and All's discussion of Laser Printer under Linux??? Need help badly.... de> Im using Redhat 4.2 and no printers listed under this distribution de> seem to work with this printer. I can get the light inside the printer de> to turn on as if it is about to print then just goes off. As far as I de> know it is not a Win95 only printer. de> Any help or suggestions at all would be GREATLY appreciated. de> If it's not a hassle, could you please email replies. Try and find out if it's compatible with a popular printer. If so, you might be in luck. Also, if the printer uses Postscript, set it up as a Postscript printer. As an aside, I tried to get a HP5MP going with Linux. It didn't like the HP drivers that Red Hat provides, but works perfectly as a postscript printer. If all else fails, set it up as a generic text only printer (lousy, I know, but better than nothing :) ). ... The Adventures of WIN.INI the Pooh - by W.
