Karen Weiner (bavc@bavc.org) spake thusly:
: I'm installing RedHat 4.2. The setup freezes right after
: the setup for the swap partition. I am selecting
: the options to setup and verify, hit OK, I see the
: indication bar filling up, then it disapears and I go
: to the background screen displaying only what I believe is
: the number corresponding to the step for the installation: 6A
:
: Hardware:
: P133
: 1.27 GIG Seagate Internal HD (IDE)
: Installing 4.2 with original boot floppy and CD.

ok, but what about other cards installed? such as display, ethernet, modem,
soundcard etc.

This one bit me for a few days until I figured it out -- take out all the
non-necessary cards (all but my display card), install, make a new kernel
with the config options you need, then put in the cards one at a time until
you get yourself a working config.

btw, I'd use a bit more swap if I were you - you never know when you're
going to need it too.
