Does this mean that with one of these chips you get e.g. 10-second lockups
when you copy from one disk to another ?

I have these symptoms with a PCI-IDE-4 board with UM8673F chip under DOS.
Is there a way to circumvent it in DOS or Windows ? (In Linux I don't have
any problem with it)

Hope you can help me, because I can't install anything from CDROM anymore
(that is, in a decent fast way).
