There are a lot of people complaining about kppp lately (including
me). It was working fine for me in my COL2.3 distro with the KDE and
kppp that shipped. Now I am playing with Peanut Linux (kernel 2.2.14,
KDE1.1.2) and the exact same thing is happening mostly as user (not
root). As soon as I connect, I immediately get disconnected with the
error that "Sorry, the pppd daemon has died unexpectedly". I wonder if
KDE.org is aware of this and addressing the issue?? I have downloaded
a dialer from freshmeat.net called XISP that looks like it could be
promising. I haven't installed and tried it yet. Hopefully this will
get sorted out soon.
