I am running RH5 2.0.32. I downloaded 2.0.33 and ran make xconfig/dep/clean/install. The first time the new kernel did not take hold because my lilo was pointing to /boot/vmlinuz-2.0.32; I changed this to vmlinuz which is actually a sym link to vmlinuz-2.0.33. I rebooted the computer a second time and the kernel took. However, I lost my mouse and ppa Zip drive. I thought I could revert to my original kernel by reassigning the sym link, but the mouse and Zip were still offline. I followed the instructions in the README (make the three sym links and compile the kernel). If anyone has done this successfully, please tell me how you did it. Also, is there any way to keep the settings from my old kernel? Joe Tseng joe_tseng@hotmail.com
