I have Slakware 3.3 with a 2.0.33 kernel, and I managed to persuade kerneld to load ppa with the line "scsi_adaptor ppa" in my kerneld configuration file. This works, but only if the lp module isn't currently loaded. Getting kerneld to automatically unload lp before loading ppa (and vice versa) would be a step forwards. Hmm... there is a post-install section... I wonder if there is an undocumented "pre-install" section? Chris.
