Apologies if the answer to this is well know, but I can't find it in the various how to files I've read. I'm trying to install Linux from the new Que Using Linux book, which uses Slackware V2. So far I can setup the Boot and Root disk, partition the hard disks and run setup and create the Fifo loader and the Linux boot disk. However, when I come to boot the machine totally locks up at the CSLIP: code copyright 1989 Regions of the University of Calafornia prompt. I've reinstalled this about six different ways, to both my hard disk c hard disk d, with minimum setup and lots of things added. The result is the same everytime. I am now totally buggered what to do next. I got this to learn UNIX, so am not ready to start major editing of files just yet - but a pointer to what I am doing wrong or to the right HOW TO file would help a lot. Regards all and any advice appreciated brian@rosebery.demon.co.uk Brian Sheehan South Shields England
