Hi there!

I'm using a PC (AMD 5x86, 48MB RAM, S3 Videocard...). I've installed
OpenLinux 1.2. The idea is to use it as a business computer.

I've installled it flawlessly. So far, so good. Then, I start the X
window. I run StarOffice 4.0 but... the accents and spanish signs(`
...) do not appear!

In the past I had the same problem in a Red Hat but I worked it out. So
this time I tried to do the same: get Thomas Quinot libs and apply them.

After some tests I discovered that accents ( ` ) only worked with
libX11.so.6.1 for libc5.

So, back to work. I copied my working .Xmodmap in Red Hat (Pablo
Saratxaga made it).

In the XF86Config I use the XkdbDisable, and UH! OH! the keys 'Del' and
'Supr' do __not__ work at all!!

Trying to make 'em work, I read about commenting out the motif lines
from the .Xresource. So... you're right. It didn'y work out.

Testing the .Xmodmap, all OK:
22 = Backspace & 107 = Delete

But nothing working as expected. I installed the original libX11.so.6.1.
In "PC Actual" magazine (from Spain) they said that there's not such a
problem with the keyboard. But they're wrong/I'm not doing everything OK
:-/

Now, I do not know wat else should I do. I know about the AltGr key. But
I'm installing the linux box for computer "iliterates" (I men, before
the PC was used under Windoze 95 and the crew was "using it" so I had to
do a reinstall-a-month policy [the world-famous Windows Stability] to
get the computer working. Now, with RedHat they are a little lost... but
no need to reinsatll anything). I would like to give them a nice and
east-to-use system, with no Win95 in it. This is why I'm using
OpenLinux: good stuff, but incomplete!

Now I'm back on the RedHat 5.0. I tried to install KDE and I dunno what
the heck I did: now the keys aren't responding right! So I'm waiting for
any magazine to provide the KDE 1.0 and check if they've solved this
problem. If they do, OpenLinux is out of the machine.

Any help will be wellcome!

Thanks in advance,
