I also use both Win95J and Linux 1.2.13.
In my case, I use LILO for booting Linux or Win95.

When you boot/reboot your machine and appear "LILO" prompt,
you should press "shift key"
if you want to use other OS instead of default one.
(When no key is press, default OS is booting.)
You can see "LILO boot:" prompt and type any words (in my case, win)
then you can use other OS.

This is my lilo.conf.
My hardware config. is:
windows95 = /dev/hda1
swap = /dev/hda2
/ = /dev/hda3
/usr = /dev/hda4,
and default OS is Linux.

# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
# Start LILO global section
boot = /dev/hda
#compact # faster, but won't work on all systems.
delay = 50
vga = normal # force sane state
ramdisk = 0     # paranoia setting
# End LILO global section
# Linux bootable partition config begins
  image = /vmlinuz
  root = /dev/hda3
  label = linux
  read-only # Non-UMSDOS filesystems should be mounted read-only for checking
# Linux bootable partition config ends
# DOS bootable partition config begins
  other = /dev/hda1
  label = win
  table = /dev/hda
# DOS bootable partition config ends
