(sorry i'm french and i'm trying to write english and i am a linux beginner)
I have the same problem actually except it isn't whith nfs install.
Configuration : 486DX33, 16Mo RAM, AHA1542B, 3 SCSI HD, 1 SCSI CDROM, 1 SCSI
                streamer.
Problem : I want to install the Slackware 2.3.0 and there is a problem with
          the AHA1542B.
Method : I use the "SCSI" boot disk and at the boot, there is warning about
         BusLogic error (i think it is normal)
         and after, the boot detect the 1542 but send following traces :
:aha1542_in failed(3): Unable to determine Adaptec DMA priority. Disabling
board
:No BIOS32 extensions present. This release still depends on it. Sorry
:SCSI 0 hosts
I don't know how to resolve the DMA problem (i have reconfigure the 1542 to
defaults values) and about the second trace : do i need recompile a new boot
disk, if yes, what is the procedure ?
NB : I think it is not a hardware problem, because a previous Linux version
     was OK; it was a Kheops April95 version (sorry i don't remember the
     version)(Kheops is a french distributor))
Don't tell me : "read SCSI-HOWTO" i've read and some over, i have not found
a response to my problem.
