You ought to try an run XF86Setup and to get KDE going - type startx.
Xconfigurator had a bug in the first version of 7.0.0. The bug doesn't seem
to be there in the newest version 7.0.2. You also need to check if the S3
card is a "3D, 2X" model... These give trouble too.
