Hi there,

while attempting to compile the kernel  on RH6.1 I get the following error.
I have installed the kernel source, and I think I have all the development
libraries
as well.....

[root@localhost linux-2.2.12]# make menuconfig

rm -f include/asm
( cd include ; ln -sf asm-i386 asm)
make -C scripts/lxdialog all
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.2.12/scripts/lxdialog'
gcc -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -DLOCALE  -DCURSES_LO
C="<curses.h>"
  -c lxdialog.c -o lxdialog.o
In file included from lxdialog.c:22:
dialog.h:29:curses.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [lxdialog.o] error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.2.12/scripts/lxdialog'
make[1]: *** [menuconfig] Error 2

seems I have some header files missing but which one(s)

I made the mistake once of not changing a /usr/src/linux/ symlink
and ended up untarring a kernel source over my working kernel. Easy
enough to fix - after I figured out what was wrong :-)

You can try other methods like "make config" or "make xconfig" (needs Tk/Tcl)
