Kickstart installation of redhat linux question

Hi all,

After working out how to get a fairly lean installation of rh
linux for:

Samba
IP Masq
Autodial to ISP
Sendmail / Fetchmail

I have been able to get the installation down to ~59mb. There
appears to be about 10mb of docs and 2mb of man pages, both of
which I do not need (they are not needed on the system and I can
look them up elsewhere if needed), as well as some other stuff
such as general utils.

I appears theat rpm cannot un-install the documentation without
un-installing the entire package. Is there a way to specify for
documentation not to install in the kickstart file?

(it seems that the above packages have a lot of dependencies, i
am working my way through them and gradually getting the totoal
footprint down)

Don't know if this helps (I'm not familiar with kickstart??), but the
rpm man page mentions :

      --excludedocs
Don't install any files which are marked as docu-
mentation (which includes man pages and texinfo
              documents).

       --includedocs
Install documentation files. This is only needed if
excludedocs: 1 is specified in an rpmrc file.

You'll have to uninstall the packages, then reinstall with
--excludedocs.

That's a bugger, isn't it. If you decide to uninstall and reinstall
packages to exclude the docs, you might want to take note of the order
of installation...

Or you could just go to your man and doc subdirs and "rm -rf *" :-)
RedHat doesn't care to much if things are missing when uninstalling.
