hi, I just installed voodoo2 driver and its working perfectly.  I also
installed q3test.  When I first up my quake3 3 it doesn't find
libGL.so.  Can someone help me what going on.  I really don't know what
else I need to setup.

try giving the _full_ path, i.e.

./linuxquake3 +set r_glDriver /opt/Mesa/lib/libMesaGl.so.3.1

that should work under any circumstances ...

btw: voodoo3 / banshee need an additional +set in_dgamouse 0

I even try to load quake using this command and it still look for opengl

so fustrated.

I even tried [./linuxquake3 +set r_glDriver libMesaVoodooGL.so.3.1]

still get same error.
