I recently got a new Micron computer at work with an Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI controller. It works flawlessly (unfortunately) under WinNT but Linux keeps on choking on the hard drive. When it does this it generates a message saying something along the lines of "pid xx timed out/id 0 (the hard drive)/restarting process". I also found out Linux will endlessly stall if the interface card is set at 20MB/s but it will only *choke occasionally* if set at 40MB/s. How can I stop my HD from crippling my system?
