I can't seem to get eth0 to initialize properly. I had a RH42 setup that was flaky at best; this was the set of commands I used to initialize eth0: ============================================================ /usr/local/isapnptools-1.11/isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.0.32/net/3c515.o ifconfig eth0 10.1.0.26 netmask 255.255.0.0 route add -net 10.1.0.0 route add default gw 10.1.0.1 ============================================================ It seems I don't need the first line because it's already being run. When I run the rest of it line by line, it seems fine. The computer would say it found the card with the right hardware address when I ran the 2nd line. The rest should just be networking initialization. I still get nothing. FYI I got the card driver from some guy's site at CESDIS/NASA Greenbelt. It was flaky but it worked under RH42, now it just doesn't work. Any helpful advice will be greatly appreciated. (Unfortunately I work with MicroBorg WinNT and I'm trying to prove to my office workers that Unix is a superior system.) Try compiling the card in a monolithic kernel and not use modules for the nic cards. I've always had problems with them being loaded as modules. --- Microsoft is not the answer. | In a World Without Fences, Microsoft is the question, | Who Needs Gates?
