Ok, i've successfully used samba to use a linux printer from a Win95 machine... Now can i go the other way? I got an inkjet (lexmark 150c if that matters) which i want to use from both machines. Since the linux machine only has one parallel port and i want to keep both printers active, i would like to share the 150c from my win95 box. I've enabled sharing on the win95 box... but *can* linux somehow see it? Ok... that should be it.. thanks in advance. -- ltost@erols.com "I wanna see movies of my dreams..." -BTS

> I've enabled sharing on the win95 box... but *can* linux somehow see it? Yes. See the example smbprint in the standard distribution. You have to use the smbclient to establish a link. smbprint uses a shell script to convert files eg gs to convert postscript pages to your appropriate printer, then sets up the connection using smbclient, finally piping the data. Works great. Dave
