Hi,

Is it possible for me to do an incremental upgrade from
Redhat 7.2. to 7.3 without major difficulties eg. a format ?

I'm happy with Redhat 7.2. I'm not sure what are the benefits
of upgrading to the newer Redhat.

Thanks for your help !

In theory, yes, just boot the CD and select upgrade, but..

why do you want to? If what you have works and does what you want, why
take the risk, however small, of changing it? At least read the
documentation accomanying RH7.3 to see if it will give you any benefit
before starting. And naturally, ensure all valuable data are backed up
first.

Because if you start grabbing the newer X tools, the 2.4.18 kernel instead
of the older 2.4.9 from RH 7.2, the updated gcc, the new glibc, the security
patches, etc., pretty soon your OS is more patches than distribution. Last
time I checked it was on the order of 200 available update RPM's, and some
of the dependencies were *not* pretty.
