Hunting around, the S3Trio 3D card seems to be mostly supported (I think...) in XFree86, so I'll not assume that I have any idea what the problem is, and just ask if anyone knows what the hell is going on on the screen as described below, and how do I fix it??? I originally wrote: ------------------------------------------------- Friend of mine has: Monitor: Mitsubishi Diamond View 1772ie Video Card: S3 Trio 3D/2X (2X AGP accel) and, with Mandrake 7.0 (r2) we cant find the exact monitor listed, so we selected "generic monitor". Now we get only basic 640x480 res (no other options available in X-config) and the mouse pointer is a big square block (ichh...) SO: 1. Anyone know of monitor driver, or can we use a "similar" Mitsubishi driver or something else? 2. Video card not listed on mdk or RH supported cards list (earlier S3 cards are). Presumably this is where the biggest problem is. What do we do? Any drivers? Or do we get another card for X? Any help met with tearful thanks, Marcus -- Marcus mdl@NOSPAMnetspace.net.au
