greetings! i have recently installed linux (1.2.13) from a slackware distribution onto my pentium. have got X windows up and running, but am having some difficulty using my mouse. its not that it freezes up (from what i can gather this is the most common problem) - it is the reverse really ie, its hyperactive. it jumps around all over the screen, disappearing from one place and re-materialising in another totally random location. this makes it very difficult to do anything at all. the mouse is a microsoft "home" mouse, with the following in "XF86Config" Section "Pointer" Protocol "Microsoft" Device "/dev/mouse" EndSection I have also tried another microsoft mouse, one of the "ergonomically" shaped variety (not sure what its proper name is). it does the same thing i don't know if it's important or not, but the video card is a diamond stealth64 pci. hope someone can help me? thanks andrew swan

Do this throught the xf86config.
