It's true, brothers (I use this word in the non-gendered sense, of course):
I was saved by
DrakFont in Mandrake 7.1.

I was alone, lost to the world of TrueType fonts, alone in the darkness of
pre-configured X fonts and their non-screen friendly countenances. Savagely
toyed with was I by the vagaries of the X Font Server, which promised all
and delivered either nothing or a temporary and short-lived taste of what
could be; which taunted me mercilessly and caused my noble resolve to turn
to dust and ashes.

But yea, verily did Mandrake the Magician wave his (again, non-gendered)
wand over my wayward path, to bless me with DrakFont, to save me from The
Beast and his evil ways. And lo! I was delivered, brothers (ibid...).
Delivered to the land of point-and-click TrueType font installation (with
only a murmur of licensing cautions...) where I now live in the land of
TrueType milk and honey. "Which font shall I choose today?" Can often be
heard issuing forth from my lips.

I know, brothers (again with the non-gendered stuff) that many of you scoff
at the pre-configured nature of Mandrake the Merciful, preferring to hack
and slash your way to Config Heaven, but there are those of us who wish to
know the ways of Linux without becoming full-time hackers and experts, who
wish to escape the clutches of the evil Lord Bill, escape the Gates of Hell
into freedom. To you I say, tolerate those of us who follow Good King
Mandrake, for our hearts are pure and our intentions genuine.
