SofTerm Plus 3.0 available on CICA
#38
Author: John Navas

SofTerm Plus 3.0 (communications shareware from Softronics) is now
available on CICA for anonymous FTP as
ftp.cica.indiana.edu:/pub/pc/win3/util/stplus30.zip

Features a completely redesigned 3D user interface, toolbars, TCP/IP
Kernel with SLIP, scripting, multimedia support, auto-dialer, file
transfer, and more. Newest emulations include DEC 340/240 and RipTerm
1.54. Uncrippled Shareware. Registration: $35

Of particular note is that SoftTerm Plus can be used to establish a
WinSock-compatible TCP/IP dialup link for running applications like Mosaic
and Netscape. (I haven't personally tried this, so *please* do not send
me questions by email.)

It should be able to work with a SLIP emulator (e.g., TIA), or real SLIP
for that matter, on the host to allow you to run WinSock-compliant
applications (e.g., Netscape or Mosaic). Seems pretty relevant to me.
Sorry if I wasn't clear.

John, with CICA down for a while, do you have an alternate site? It may
or may not have made it to the mirror sites.

It did make it to the mirrors; e.g.,
ftp://wuarchive.wustl.edu:/systems/ibmpc/win3/util/stplus30.zip

CICA is down? Guess I should check the home site instead of the mirrors
more often :)
