Hi all,

The chat program Powow is causing a general protection fault when I
first try to launch Powwow. Under details it says: Powwow caused a
general protection fault in module KRNL386.EXE. If I try to launch
Powwow again it comes up and runs but it causes errors in other
programs I try to run while Powwow is running in the background, ie.,
Agent can't launch binary files . When I shut down powwow and start it
a third time, it says the GPF is in powwow.exe. If I try to run it
again , I get the message: " A device attached to the system is not
functioning." Also, when I go to restart or shut down the system, it
hangs at "please wait while your computer shuts down." I've tried
reinstalling powwow several times, renaming winsocks to old, copying
the ctl3d.dll file from powwow to windows\system and even tried
reinstalling windows.

I have a 486/66, 16 megs of ram and windows95
I connect to the net with the windows95DUN

Thanks in advance,
Craig
