Don't believe it.  I have occassionally had line drops while doing ftp
and when I hook up again my software asks if I want to continue
downloading file xxx or abandoning it.  Come to think of it, the program
has even done that when I have closed it down mid transfer and not gone
back to it for a few days.

The software?  WS_FTP Professional from Ipswitch Internetworking
Software.  I got it bundled with my net software from Demon Internet,
and it is available from them as part of the Turnpike suite, or you
could try an e-mail to info@ipswitch.com if you simply want the ftp
package.
