Hi, I've just picked up the above Microsoft CD-ROM.

When installing it shows the MS Home logo and appears to go through
it's installation process (installs Win-G, creates a program group and
...WINDOWS\nations.ini without any error messages).

It then puts up a dialogue box which restarts windows and says that
the next time the program icon is double clicked the program will run
normally.

It doesn't, a double click starts the install again which runs as
before accept it doesn't create another program group.

Back at the shop it installed under Win 95 without fault.

This is using a VLB 486DX66,8Mb Ram, 12Mb Perm Swoop File, 19Mb Free
on hard disk, Sony CDU33a CD-ROM drive, Win32s 1.20.123, WinG 1.0,
VfW 1.1e, OLE2 from Office 4.2 and the S3Flat.drv 3.10.061 supplied on
the CD.

Other software still works ok ie Encarta 94, Freecell, Mpegplay
and the avi clips on the CD-ROM play using the windows Media Player.

I've tried different video drivers and resolutions (usually
1024x768x256) and I've removed the WinG and Win32s Library's to no
effect.

If you've got it to work for you please tell me how and/or the icons
properties and the contents of the nations.ini file

My nations.ini
[USA]
Launched=1
CD=D:\
Pid=28167-G55-0655014

Many thanks in advance

Got it fixed after much trial and error and slow downloads from the
microsoft software library.

The CD-ROM installs a bad? vshare.386 dated 24/6/94 size:14933

Replacing this with the latest? microsoft library file WW1000.EXE
(vshare.386 dated 28/5/94 size:14933) lets the program run correctly.
