Hi all!

This message is cross-posted to several newsgroups - so sorry
if you receive it more than once. Thanks for your attention.

I have just uploaded YET another upgrade to my Windows
Command Line interface program (WCL v7.30a) to various ftp
sites. The file you want is wincmd73.zip, or wincmd73a.zip.

The last few weeks have been very hectic - but this is the
LAST public release of WCL for the forseeable future, as I
have to move on to other things. Public thanks to all those
who have registered!

You can currently find the latest version in the following
places;

       site                          uploads directory
      --------                 ------------------------------
   archive.umich.edu           /msdos/UPLOADS/wincm73a.zip
   wuarchive.wustl.edu         /pub/MSDOS_UPLOADS/win/wincmd73.zip
   ftp.cica.indiana.edu        /pub/pc/win3/uploads/wincmd73.zip

It has also been uploaded to;

1. oak.oakland.edu - they will announce this when they have processed the
   upload (look in the /pub/msdos/windows3 directory).

2. garbo.uwasa.fi - they will announce this when they have processed the
   upload

If you are using any earlier version of WCL, you should download
this new version. It implements some major new features,

e.g.,

  1. WCL now has an UNZIP feature to process ZIP archives created by
     PKZIP and other ZIP utilities. This is a fully featured UNZIP
     routine, which is implemented by the new "UNZIP" command. You
     can use it to extract files from a ZIP archive, or to view the
     contents of the archive. You can extract all files, or supply
     a file spec. You can use wildcards, and you can preserve any
     directory structure found in the ZIP archive.

     What this new feature means is that, in addition to being
     a full blown Windows Command Interpreter, WCL also does the
     following;
        [a] application execution/management
        [b] file management
        [c] system functions/management
        [d] UUencode
        [e] UUdecode
        [f] UNZIP

  2. A new command "RUNDOS" has been introduced. Sometimes, users
     experience some problems with some DOS programs. A typical situation
     is a case where the user is trying to pass some parameters to a DOS
     program (e.g., to redirect output from the DOS program to a file).
     If you have persistent problems with running a particular DOS
     program through WCL, and nothing else works, try the RUNDOS command.

  3. You can now have a choice of fonts in the "small" WCL window, through
     a new setting in the INI file, "DEFAULT-FONT".

  4. You can now give the main the "small" WCL window a border, through a
     new setting in the INI file, "WINDOW-BORDER". When the window has a
     border, it can be resized, to REDUCE its WIDTH only.

  5. A bug in the SEEK and DIR/S commands was fixed.
