Hello, I have an old SMART ONE (BEST DATA Products) 2400X modem which I'm trying to use with an old Gateway 386 PC. I recently formatted the drive on the PC and loaded MS Windows for Workgroups 3.11. I attached the modem to the COM2 port, loaded a Kermit appliclation to test the modem, and it doesn't work. I get no error messages. I'm confident the COM2 port settings are correct and that the modem works because I tested the modem on my other PC running Win95 and also copied the settings from the Win95 environment. The file comm.drv (the driver used by the modem) is on the 386 PC in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Am I missing something elementary - an entry in the config.sys or autoexec.bat file, perhaps? If you have any advice, please e-mail me directly. Thanks. _______________________________________________________________ Chris Little, Oracle DBA & SAP Admin GE Fanuc Automation North America, Inc.
