Your thread title says free, yet in the body of the posting you ask for
offers. If you are genuinely interested in giving your 386 away, may I
suggest that there are a number of junior schools who still have few, if
any, computers for the children to use. I can't think of a better use
than helping children to learn and appreciate computers, as well as the
other subjects that computers can bring to life.

Just a thought.

Very slow under Windows 95, but the motherboard can take 16MB of ram
(4x4MB Simms) - and the price of this older type of ram has really
fallen - (as has all ram).

You said it was free.

You also posted to at least a couple of totally inappropriate group, eg dis
and ds. And to be quite frank I can't see many losedoze users jumping to use
such a low spec. machine.

Followups set appropriately.

386 ? Maybe what root@goober meant to say was :

_Asking price 386 pounds. _

If he had 300 quid would have been a bargain.

But with the chassis, memory, monitor, hard disk, etc etc etc all adding
up to a value probably in excess of 300 quid, I daresay he did sell the
386DX40 chip itself for free. A 386DX40 is only a microprocessor, not a
machine after all...
