Wanted: good TT fixed space font

Does anyone know of a good fixed/mono spaced TT font, nothing fancy,
suitable for use in code editors (Delphi, Multi-Edit) and that prints
well on Laserjet and Deskjet? Preferably available free.

I'm currently using Courier New but it prints very faint; and I don't
much like the other standard ones (eg fixedsys).

TIA,

There's quite a TT nice font that comes with the LaserJet 4, called
LetterGothic. It's sanserif, fully scalable and not too light: I used
to use it for all my output.

Neither Schoolbook nor the LetterGothic mentioned in another
post are fixed-width.

The original poster never specified if he wanted a serif font or
a sans-serif font. Try looking for fonts named something like
Terminal or VT100 or something like that....

Wrong. I don't know abt Schoolbook, LetterGothic is fixed-width:
there may be another, proportionally spaced variant; but the std LJ4+
variant *is* fixed width. I should know: I have read tens of
thousands of pages printed with it, and right-justified mono-spaced
text comes out perfectly (in case you don't believe the
documentation).

Thanks for the suggestion but the Laserjet I use at work is a IID,
rather than a 4, but it may still have the LetterGothic - I'll check
next week. What I was hoping for was a good TT font that I could use
both on-screen, and for printing source listings.

all the best,

Thanks for this - I'll see if I can find it using one or more of
the search engines.
