ALTOS 5000 SCO UNIX SYSTEM/FOXBASE+ --> DOS/WFWG 3.11 SAGE

I  need some advice on a system running on ALTOS 5000, running  a 
Foxbase+  database running under SCO Unix V. There are  about  40 
terminals with about 1400 transactions a day. The system is quite 
heavily loaded, enough for the system to crash far too often.

The  database  files  currently take a long time  to  index,  and 
probably  could so with some pruning for day to  day  operational 
purposes.

A pressing need is to port the data from the Unix environment  to 
PC-DOS/Windows  For  Workgroups  system  running  Sage  acounting 
software. How easy is this to do?

1st Question:   What's the best way of reducing the load on the
                Altos 5000?

2nd Question:   How can the data files be easily ported  to  the 
                DOS/Sage environment.

I need some detailed help here, and fast.
