"There are 1 user(s) connected to your computer. Shutting down your computer will disconnect them. Do you want to continue?" Hi All, Does anyone know how I can remove this 'share' warning GUI during shutdown on Win95? I've got users who are complaining about it when they log off the network. It's beginning to get quite annoying, since I'm running some software on the NT4 server that occasionally connects to each PC on the network... Thanks for any ideas, rgds, Ady (a.shaw@kenwood-europe.co.uk)

It's Dr Solomons excellent Anti Virus Toolkit Server Edition. To inititate a scan on a client workstation elsewhere in the domain, it makes a network connection to that machine. Hence, when the user shuts down at the end of the day..... "There are 1 user(s) connected to your computer.... This is true for any workstation on a network that you connect to whether it's this software or not, NT or Netware - I was just hoping that there would be a way of removing the GUI/warning. Network users are paranoid enough about 'big brother' watching so I like implement a methodology of trust between users and myself, especially in this case since I am not using any network monitoring software (yet). Any ideas out there? Ady Michael Harrison wrote in message <01bd95a3$00ebc060$a34c18cb@roadspare>... >What is the software your running? I do not have Dr. Solomons. You may be seeing this message if your system is a browsemaster. Try disabling the browsemaster function (properties of "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" in the Network control panel), reboot, and see if the message disappears. Joe Morris

You can't remove the message, but you can avoid it by putting a NET USE ... /D command in your shutdown (or make a shutdown with it if you don't have one already). Of course you must know what the connection is first, but if it is always the same machine doing the scanning that should not be a problem.
