Has anyone gotten MLPPP on a Motorola Bitsurfr Pro to work with RAS? I've got both ends configured with the modem.inf files from motorola on NT 3.51, and am running rev. E on both the TAs. When I first try to connect, I get error #629 "disconect by remote." The second time, I get error #630 "post disconected due to HW failure", and the TA resets. I can use v.120 and single PPP fine, it's just when I try the MLPPP that these prpoblems crop up. Do you have any clues? TIA. PS: Please copy my email address with any replies. Odin -- Odin J. But I haven't tried to connect to another BitSurfr. John

The BS Pro is useless on the server side unless you use V.120. Motorola says they didn't really intend it for that purpose. Please ask them about it - the more requests they get, the more likely it is to be supported in a future firmware upgrade. > > Do you have any clues? > > TIA. > > PS: Please copy my email address with any replies. > > Odin > -- > Odin J. From what I understand, MLPPP is not supported under RAS yet. I have been told that MLPPP support is coming in NT v4.0, however. -Bob odin.anderson@teldta.com (Odin J. The correct modem.inf file is available on the Motorola web site. I experienced similar errors as reported here, but they turned out to be due to problems between my ISP and the phone company. Once they had resolved those problems, my machine connected very easily. All I know about the problems is that they were related to "ISDN capacity limitations". I still cannot get a POTS call to interrupt a MLPPP session and pick up the analog call. Outgoing calls take one of the channels while leaving the connection running on the other one, then return the channel to MLPPP when completed. Incoming calls just get busy signals. I've been told that this is due to improper provisioning of my circuit by US West, but I haven't been able to verify this yet. John John

(After all, it only has one DTE port.) I believe the problem here (as I stated in a previous post) is the inability of the BS Pro to answer a sync/async PPP call. BTW, MP support is indeed coming in NT 4.0. > > odin.anderson@teldta.com (Odin J. I've had a similar problem with the Bitsurfer's 1st get the flash bios upgrade and new modem.inf file for NT from the website.

They finally fixed the problem. Just another misconfig at the switch. Fred
