Digital ISA DE200 NEtwork Card & WFWG/Endeavour Board etc?
I am having problems getting Digital DE200 16 bit ISA cards
working on a Windows for Workgroups Network.
The system works fine with WD8003 8 bit cards.
System 1: P120
Intel Endeavour Board
256K Pipeline Cache
32MB EDO RAM
Latest Intel BIOS
On Board Vibra16 Sound Card
PCI AHA 2940
Diamond Stealth VRAM 2MB Card
I've taken Adaptec out and the symptoms are the same, the system
gets verious distances through booting and just hangs.
The D200 has a 12 bit DIP Switch.
buffersize sw1 sw2 sw3 sw4

sw7 remote boot periodetime

150seconds 1
sw8 irq5
sw9 irq9
sw10 irq10

sw12 irq15
I've tried just about everything I can think of and can't get the
system to get to the DOS prompt!!
System 2
486-100DX
16 MB RAM
Bus Logic 545S SCSI Card (supporting 2 drives)
Oak technology VGA Card
DE200
With this one, the system boots OK (32 bit buffer) and RAM 0300,
IRQ 5. But when the system enters Windows, there's a very long
delay. The system can't communicate with the P120 system (when
the P120 is using the WD8003 8 bit card).
1) Has anyone had a DE200 working with an Endeavour Board?
2) Can anyone suggest a configuration which WILL work?

Certainly does, but I think that you have the table all wrong
(which could explain a lot off things)...
Try:
buffersize sw1 sw2 sw3 sw4
--------------------------------------------------
64kb 1 1 1 1 c0000-cffff
1 0 1 1 d0000-dffff(default)
0 1 1 1 e0000-effff (1)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
32kb 1 1 0 0 c8000-cffff
1 0 0 0 d8000-dffff
0 1 0 0 e8000-effff (1)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no 2Kb option.
(1) Some PCs do not support E0000-EFFFF or E8000-EFFFF address ranges.
sw5 i/o range 300 - 30F 1 (default)
200 - 20F 0
sw6 Remote boot selection
Disable 1 (default)
enable 0
sw7 remote boot periodetime
30seconds 0 (default)
150seconds 1
sw8 irq5 (default)
sw9 irq9
sw10 irq10
sw11 irq11
sw12 irq15
Note: Obviously, only one of sw8-12 can be on.

I confess that I sold my last DEC cards (good as they are) with my last ISA host - I use 3com 3c590s with Endevours. The only ISA card I use is an AVM ISDN card, and that works fine. David, have you ever considered taking up a hobby that doesn't give you so much grief, such as Russian Roulette? Nick ;-)

In this case, replacing the cards with DE205s worked....but why?
Looking at the addresses and IRQ there *shouldn't* have been a
problem.
