Hi,
I'm using NT 4.0 workstation, but I'm not connected on a
network. I would like to start NT without having to enter a
password. I'm loging into administrator mode.

I didn't found any option to disable passwords. CAn someone
help me ?

P.S send your answer by email tomasd@axess.com

Thanks

Hi Thomas,

in the registry add an entry autoadminlogon, type REG_SZ, with value 1 under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
 \Microsoft
  \Windows NT
   \CurrentVersion
    \Winlogon.

There is an entry DefaultUsername. You can add an entry DefaultPassword,
type REG_SZ, if you have a password for the user. If you set the entry
autoadminlogon, the user in DefaultUsername will be logged on automatic with
DefaultPassword. Then you have to set the permissions to the winlogonkey to
read for all users. If you don' t, you will be logged on only once. Second
time the machine will ask for user and password again.

Ciao

Heinz

Use TweakUI from the PowerToys (free from microsoft). You can give it
a user name and password that you want used automatically when you
start up. The password must NOT be blank.

Not so. It does work with a blank password. I use it that way.

It's simple. Use the AutoLogon tool from ResKit will do.
or .....modify the registry.....

I can't get TweakUI to stick!
Everytime it boots up, it autologon's just fine, and clears the
autologon checkbox in TweakUI!!!
So next time, it doesn't work.

Help! Any ideas? I'm use NT 4.0. I'm connected to NW 3.12.
