I would like to copy the Access Control Entry from
shares to directories.
I have got lot of share with security permission already
define.
Now I want to define the same permissions on directories.
It will take lot of time to do it manually.
How can I do it automatically is there any utility for that ?

Regards,
Rami

I am not aware of a tool that will copy share permissions to directory
permission but you can roll your own with the reskit RMTSHARE
and XCALCL commands.

RMTSHARE \\Server\ShareName1 >share.log
RTMSHARE \\Server\ShareName2 >>share.log
RTMSHARE \\Server\ShareNameN >>share.log

The write a batch program to parse the output and GRANT
the permissions on the directories.

You might want to try SCOPY.EXE from the RESKIT if you have it.

scopy

Copies files and directories to and from NTFS partitions with security
intact. SCOPY will not copy files to or from FAT, HPFS, or other
non-secured file systems. SCOPY requires that you have Backup and
Restore files User Rights on both the source and destination computers.

Parameters must be given in the order specified below.

SCOPY source destination [/o] [/a] [/s]

source Specifies files to copy.
destination Where to copy files to.
/o Copies owner security information.
/a Copies auditing information. Requires that you have
the Manage Auditing User Right on both the source and
            destination computers.
/s Copies all files in subdirectories.

Also have a look at FINAL for NT. It is a scripting language which has a
