Heya I have a huge problem, and I hope some of you guys can help. I run win98 and windows NT Server 4.0 in a dual-boot system on a P233mmx with 128 sd-ram(intel 430 tx chipset). Last day i bought an IBM 16GP Deskstar with 7200 rpm, but now I suddenly realised, after atempting to install NT Server five times, that the eventlog was bitching about an atapi-driver. I cannot format my drives completely, but can only choose "Quick format" on the drives, and when I attempt to format the partitions completely, the task cannot be completed Windows says. The Error-message i get in the evenwiever is like this: "The driver has detected that device \Device\ScsiPort0 has old or out-of-date firmware. Reduced performance may result." I don't believe that my brand new Harddisk has an old firmware or something like that, but I really don't trust the "Quick formats" - Can I trust them, or should I just format from eg. Partition Magic? - Or is there a solution to my problem with the atapi-driver? Can it be replaced, or do I have to live with an insecure filesystem? By the way - I'm running with SP3... Does SP5 fix this problem? Any help would be much appreciated and feel free to write me personally if you have a solution. Regards, Lars Christiansen Aalborg, Denmark

It should be available on the MS web site. -- Regards, Marv Lance X.mlance@att.X.net (Spam control. Remove both X. before replying)
