Ok, i've done everything the read_nt.txt file says to, except I cannot find aspi32.dll anywhere. Where does this mysterious DLL come from, and can I assume its absence is why my scanner won't work with NT? I have ScanJet 4C (complete with readme for making it work with NT that says "make sure the following DLLs are in the indicated directories, which they are, except for aspi32.dll. It doesn't say what do do if the "following DLLs" arent' there 8-) ) Windows NT 3.51 DPT 2124 SCSI adapter. ScanJet 4c SCSI adapter. Have tried lots of stuff, with both scsi adapters. Windows NT sees the scanner (according to the registry info for scsi devices) but deskscan II does not. I've also heard rumours about "proper 32 bit scanner drivers for NT" coming soon for some brands, including HP; I certainly hope so.

Additional information: I have since located a aspi32.dll. After installing it, deskscan II 2.3 would now see the scanner, but would abort with an "illegal instruction executed" error before it could do anything useful. I have installed deskscan II 2.2 which seems to work ok. So, my scanner is now working under NT for now, but with 16 bit stuff. ---- Dave E Martin Main groups and alt, wrapped in 2,500,000 sectors P11 XXIII KB7VBD of spinning cylinders, all alone on the disk. Their attitude is particularly confusing considering that their Workstation group is selling a dual-Pro machine. "You should buy our great box, but, oh, by the way, don't buy our scanner, we don't support that."
