I have a Creative Soundblaster AudioPCI 64V. NT doesn`t detect it on booting, and when I try and install the drivers using the NT Install Wizard it copies the files over and then tells me the card is not found on this system. I`ve tried reseating the card, but it hasn`t made any difference. I`ve activated Plug and Play in the BIOS. The only other thing is that both the sound card and my graphics card seem to be taking IRQ 9. Is this important, and if so where can I change it? And what else can I do? Rhiannon -- http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~rhi/ "Yes!" everybody chorused. But I refrained.

I had this problem and eventually I found some driver files on the Intel site. They produce a motherboard with the PCI64V sound chip onboard. Have a look at the Intel site or serch back in this news group about 2-3 months ago. That's where I found the info. Unfortunately I cannot remember the exact URL. However my PCI64V card now works under NT. Chris. Rhiannon Macfie <rhi@electric.custard.org> wrote in message news:91be25$7an$1@singer.cent.gla.ac.uk... > I have a Creative Soundblaster AudioPCI 64V. Rhiannon, Does either card have jumpers to 'set' the IRQ; if so try various combinations. If NT indicates that the card is not in the system ... it may be so. Did you use/download the right drivers ? Note : NT is not really plug- and play(able). Good luck ! Guy Rhiannon Macfie wrote: > I have a Creative Soundblaster AudioPCI 64V.
