Hello all,
I have a K6-233 cpu with 64 meg of ram and 10 gig hard dirve, I have
a IDE cd rom and scsi cd rom burner. Heres the problem I want a dual
boot system I have win98 running just fine..Ok I put the first disk in
and boot every things fine then it ask for disk 2 every things fine
then disk 2 ask if I want nt to find my mass storage deivces..I say
yes then it ask for disk three so I instlall it then the system hangs
up and I get an error saying that it could not load cpqarray.sys. So I
tried it again and told nt that I will tell it what kind of mass
storage i have..well then it ask for the manufactors disk, well I
install the disk and it keeps asking for the manufactors disk..so I
don't know what file nt is looking for and why is it crashing on
cpqarray.sys. BTW I though maybe the disk was corrupt so I went to the
cd and winnt.exe and made a new disk and I get the same problem. any
information will be greatly appreciated. please e-mail to :

Thanks in Advance
Brad

Just remember:

Basic rule #1:  Win9x (and DOS) cannot read NTFS; NT4 cannot read FAT32;
Windows (and DOS) versions before Win95B cannot read FAT32; all can read
FAT(16).

Basic rule #2: Since NT4 cannot read FAT32, it cannot boot from a FAT32
partition.

Boot managers can steer around a FAT32 C: partition by using multiple
primary partitions, but the most common way to dual boot Win9x and NT4 is by
making the C: partition FAT16. Then Win9x can either be installed into the
same C: partition, or into its own (FAT16 or FAT32) partition; NT4 can be
installed into the C: partition or into its own (FAT16 or NTFS) partition.

If all partitions are FAT16, then all files can be shared between the two
operating systems. Files that are not to be shared can be put into either a
FAT32 or an NTFS partition, as appropriate. There is a third-party program
available that will allow NT4 to read (for free) or read/write (for a fee)
FAT32 partitions. I believe it is FAT32.EXE at www.sysinternals.com; I have
not tried it.

NT can only boot from fat16 or ntfs

If your win98 is fat32 it wont work.
