We have recently installed a Seagate Hawk SCSI-2 drive in our Window NT 3.51
Server. The Event Viewer indicated that the system detects a controller error.
(driver: aic78xx.sys). Once I removed this seagate drive, the error message
went away.
This is the configuration:
(internal drives)
|----- HP SCSI-2 (TE enabled; ID = 0)
|
|----- Seagate ST15230N 4G (TE disabled; ID = 1)
|
|
Adaptec AHA-2940 (Terminator disabled)
|
|---- Exabyte SCSI-2 tape drive (ID = 2; externally terminated)
(external drives)
I also tried the latest driver (aic78xx.sys) from Adaptec. It did not help.
Any suggestion is welcomed.

Hi! As i know, is this a confirmed bug in the nt-bug-list 3.51! Iยดve three NT-servers with the same error-message, but nearly all works correctly, this bug always appears if you use a scsi-card with an 7800-chip! I hope it helps mfg Johannes Maier
