Hi everybody, I've made a program that i want to distribute in cdrom with all the help, manuals, etc in html format. The problem i have is how to open the principal html document from a setup.exe that executes the autorun.inf. I can't make a call to the "html visor" because i don't know if it is the internet explorer or the netscape, and where it is instaled. Any solution? Thanks in advance Ruben

Try ShellExecute() command. It will start whatever registered application is for the .html files. You can find the parameter syntax in the Win95 SDK. The file name will be "first.html" somewhere in the parameters. However, there is a slight problem with the process that I don't have a solution for. Here is the problem: when you ShellExecute() your start page the browser will start, in case of IE 3.x+ versions if you are not online it will bring up the Connect to your ISP dialog. In my case it starts the MSN dialer. Hola:
Creo que tienes que ejecutar el explorador de Windows y pasarle como
par=E1metro el nombre del fichero. En el ordenador que se vaya a ejecutar=
,
ya estar=E1 configurado el 'programa asociado' a esa extensi=F3n y se
ejecutar=E1 autom=E1ticamente ese programa.

You posted this exact question on Oct 3 and you got 2 answers. Were they not good enough? Furthermore, there has been significant discussion of this problem in several other threads in the groups. Do you not know how to search the newsgroups with your newsreader? If not, it might be a good thing to learn. You can also learn how to use DejaNews to search for related posts or answers to your question. In a word, ShellExecute(). -- John A.
